Needing a safe, confidential space to explore issues around stress, burn out, depression or conflict?
As a Licensed Lay Minister in the Church of England and qualified counsellor, I offer face to face, zoom and telephone counselling, and can work with you to explore your current situation, through the ‘lens’ of the main counselling approaches, where they may be helpful.
A church leader myself, I am aware that not all ministerial training prepares us for the emotional demands of ministry or the necessary self-awareness about our own triggers, barriers, behaviour and thought patterns that we bring to the role. For example, we may find certain personalities difficult and find ourselves in conflict with others, or wonder why certain situations trigger a strong emotional response in us, such as fear or anger. We may find it difficult to say no and to put up healthy boundaries without feeling guilty.
If any of this resonates with you, I can offer you the opportunity to work with me, exploring underlying thought processes and behaviour patterns, possibly from childhood, that are affecting you in the present.
I have recently completed training in spiritual abuse and religious trauma and if you feel you have been affected by these issues I can offer you support and a safe space to process your experience, work through difficult emotions and explore the best way forward for you.
FAQ: Do you offer spiritual direction?
I am not a qualified spiritual director. Although counselling and spiritual direction are separate fields, I believe that there is overlap but I am always client led.
Feel free to contact me at: morningstarcounselling@protonmail.com if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange a free 30 minute initial consultation, by Zoom or telephone. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07519830721 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services. Find out more by reading my Privacy Policy.
