How long is each session, and how frequent?
I offer one hour sessions at the same time each week.
How much do you charge?
I charge £55 per session. This is payable 24 hours in advance by secure bank transfer.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel a session, I require 48 hours notice. Unfortunately, if less notice is given, I will need to charge the full fee.
How many sessions will I need?
At the beginning of therapy, we will agree on the goals you wish to work upon, and we will review our work regularly. Some people may feel that they have achieved their goals after a short period of time, whereas others may benefit from longer-term work. As therapy progresses, clients and the counsellor normally have a sense that the work is drawing to a close. It is important that this is shared so that a planned ending and timescale can be put in place.
Do you work face-to-face?
I am now able to offer face to face work as well as online via Zoom or by telephone.
What happens during the initial telephone or zoom consultation?
The initial telephone or zoom consultation is free and lasts approximately 30 minutes. It is an opportunity for us to get to know more about each other, how I work, for you to share what you are seeking from counselling, and for us to decide whether we are a 'good fit' for each other.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. This is a safe, confidential environment for you to share how you are feeling. However, there are some legal and ethical limits where I would be required by law to break confidentiality, for example if you disclose that you or someone else, such as a child or vulnerable adult, are at risk of serious harm. Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first. Other limits to confidentiality include terrorism or drug trafficking.
My work is regularly supervised by a qualified supervisor whose role is to oversee my practice and ensure that I am working within the guidelines of the BACP Ethical Framework. My clients' personal details are not shared, other than their first name, and all discussion within supervision remains confidential.
Please see my Privacy Policy for more details.
I see that you are a Christian counsellor. Do you only work with Christians?
No. I work with people of any faith or no faith. My clients have mostly been from a non-Christian background. As a counsellor, I respect your views and beliefs and I work only with your agenda and what you want to discuss.
Feel free to contact me at: morningstarcounselling@protonmail.com if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange a free 30 minute initial consultation, by Zoom or telephone. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07519830721 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services. Find out more by reading my Privacy Policy.
